Project Overview: Historic Woodlawn Rowhouse Renovation (in progress)

This project involves the comprehensive renovation of an existing 1893-year-old rowhouse, located within Chicago's historic Woodlawn neighborhood. Jack and Hammer Builders has been engaged as the general contractor for this significant undertaking, which encompasses an entire gut rehab of the property. This 2,400 square-foot residence is undergoing a complete interior transformation, effectively an "interior facelift" that will modernize its functionality and aesthetic while preserving its historical integrity. The scope of work for this extensive gut rehab includes:

A complete demolition of all existing interior finishes, non-load-bearing partitions, and outdated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, reducing the structure to its original framing. This meticulous process ensures a clean slate for all new installations.

Installation of all-new, high-efficiency mechanical systems, including state-of-the-art HVAC, modern plumbing infrastructure, and a completely rewired electrical system. 

All new interior finishes, encompassing new drywall, flooring substrates, spray foam insulation for enhanced energy performance, and a comprehensive selection of high-quality surface materials throughout the residence and custom millwork with bespoke architectural details designed to elevate the home's interior aesthetic.
